ADLERENT - STEPHEN ADLER (Marketing)

Stephen Adler is a well-respected and well-connected member of the public relations/marketing and sponsorship world, both in Canada and the U.S., and has been for the past twenty years. Highly experienced in the creation, implementation and supervision of advertising, public relations and marketing campaigns, he is expert at generating new revenue streams. Stephen has worked with the Toronto Symphony; Hill and Knowlton Public Relations (L.A.), where he was Vice President and co-founder of their entertainment division, excelling at creating and implementing highly successful “marriages” between H&K’s Fortune 500 clients and a number of non-profit organizations; and Circle In The Square Theater (NYC), where his new tactics for subscription campaigns increased revenues by 120% over two years. He created a Sponsorship Program for the theatre and was simultaneously the Director of Development. Adler was Senior Consultant at the Elgin and Winter Garden Theatre Centre in Toronto, charged with exploring, developing and marketing new business opportunities for the Theatre Centre. Prior to returning to Toronto for this assignment, he was Director of Corporate Communications & Program Development (Live and Broadcast) for six years at Bob Banner Associates Television, Beverly Hills, CA, where he worked with five producers, four shows in production, and promoted the company itself, while negotiating some of their deals for touring live theatre presentations across the U.S. He also developed a boutique agency for classical artists for Gurtman and Murtha Public Relations, NY. During his tenure at Gurtman and Murtha, he not only created their representation for artists division, he also actively engaged in Public Relations and Marketing solutions for artists, Broadway touring shows, and many special events including the world famous Lippizaner Horses which appeared twice at Madison Square Garden.

Adler produced Grandma Moses: An American Primitive, starring Cloris Leachman. The production toured the US and had a 10-week run at the Geffen Playhouse in Los Angeles. While living in New York, Adler introduced and eventually acted as Associate Producer for the Toronto production of Driving Miss Daisy. He continues to serve as consultant to numerous producers in Canada, and with Lincoln Center (NYC) works closely with RCB Entertainment in development and marketing of touring products as well as other projects with that company.

Currently, head of his own successful company, AdlerEnt, he has most recently provided sponsors and marketing programs for: Dream a Little Dream: The Almost True Story of the Mamas and Papas and the Toronto production of Fully Committed, starring Mark McKinney. He was instrumental in the revitalization of the New Yorker Theatre and established its first season under new management. His company developed and executed the entire marketing and sponsorship campaign for the new production of Frank – A Life In Song, starring the Australian super star, Tom Burlinson. Future projects include: Production of the Triumphant return of Forever Plaid in 2004; consultation with the new revitalization concept for the Hummingbird Center and the first Annual Toronto International Highland Games and Festival. AdlerEnt was engaged to oversee marketing, sponsorship and promotion for the winter production of August Wilson’s Pulitzer Prize winning production of The Piano Lesson. AdlerEnt is associate producer for the upcoming production of Scarmouche Jones, a tour de force one-man show starring Pete Posthelthwaite and part of the Mirvish subscription series 2003/04.

AdlerEnt currently consults for M.Rubinoff Productions and is administering the marketing campaign for EVITA, scheduled to open in August 2003 at the St. Lawrence Centre for the Performing Arts. Adlerent is involved in developing a marketing and sponsorship strategy for The Great Moscow State Circus’ appearance at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre at Exhibition Place during the summer of 2003. AdlerEnt is about to complete negotiations with Canada Pops (working directly with Artistic Director David Warrack) which will allow AdlerEnt to prepare a Subscription Campaign, solicit Sponsorships, create a Television series, and national and international tours, oversee public relations and strategize on upcoming concerts.
