MARK SELBY (Associate Musical Director)

Mark Selby recently played for Michael Rubinoff’s productions of Side By Side By Sondheim and Free to Be … You and Me, and continues as musical director for the Cityscapes Cabarets at the Hummingbird Centre. As a cocktail pianist, he has been privileged to play at many benefits and private functions across Toronto. He accompanies various improvised comedy troupes (Theatresports, Second City, more); composes music for student films; and, for four years, was the Head of Theatre at Camp Winnebagoe in Huntsville. He is also a production assistant with CBC-TV’s Royal Canadian Air Farce and various production companies around the city. A graduate of the Cinema Studies program at the University of Toronto, Mark directed the acclaimed UC Follies production of The Music Man and performed in Fiddler on the Roof (Motel) and West Side Story (A-rab; also co-producer). He recently completed a history of Nightcap, the controversial CBC late-night show (1963-67), and hopes to have it published. A ma bobinette, Renée: Vous êtes une véritable étoile.
