MICHAEL RUBINOFF ANNOUNCES
THE 2002 TORONTO CAST OF A CHORUS LINE

Michael Rubinoff is pleased to announce the cast for the Toronto production of the Legendary Broadway Musical A CHORUS LINE, to be presented at the Jane Mallett Theatre at the St. Lawrence Centre for the Arts, for 8 performances, commencing August 9. The cast includes Hart Massey, playing the authoritative Director Zach. Mr. Massey was seen in the Dora award winning production of The Doll House. Rhoda Mae Gallardo, a recent graduate of Sir Paul McCartney’s Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts will play the role of Connie. Enrique Covarrubias, an original member of the Mexican Company of Crazy for You, will play Zach’s assistant Larry. Venezuela native Rafael E. Martinez will play the role of Paul and acclaimed Soprano Amber Bishop, will appear as Sheila.

Other members of the Company include, Elizabeth Bell (Cassie), Lucy Benayan (Diana), Rob Bird (Bobby), Jillian Ditomassi (Kristine), Sedina Fiati (Val), David Gludish (Greg), Jordan Kanner (Al), Shauna Jaeger (Maggie), Heather McGowan (Judy), Michael Parent (Don), Justin Ruttan (Mike), Lorne Smith (Mark), Jamie Sussman (Bebe) and Twaine Ward (Richie).

The show is staged as an audition, with dancers trying out for a part in the chorus of a forthcoming Broadway musical. Rather than have the dancers perform, Zach, the authoritative director, interrogates the seventeen finalists about their lives, dreams, fears, and fantasies.

Michael Rubinoff is committed to revitalizing mid-size musical theatre in the City of Toronto. A CHORUS LINE is the first in a series of musicals to be produced by the company.
