AMBER BISHOP [SHEILA]

A Chorus Line welcomes Ms. Bishop back to the Jane Mallet Theatre after her appearances in Nabucco, Opera in Concert and Zaruela, Toronto Operetta Theater. Ms.Bishop first came to international attention in Lucca Italy in Cimarosa’s Gli Sposi per Accidenti. Her impressive performances there led her next to Israel where she performed the role of Micaëla in Carmen. Subsequent opera performances include leading roles in The Bartered Bride, Madama Butterfly, La Bohème, and Le Nozze Di Figaro. As well, she has appeared in solo recitals and on the concert stage in Halifax, Cincinnati, Florence, Toronto and London, and in Concert repertoire such as Brahms’s German Requiem, Mozart’s Exsultate Jubilate, and Handel’s Messiah. A student of the Tanglewood Music Centre she has been a finalist in several International Competitions for Young Singers in Italy and France, and winner of the Metropolitan Opera Encouragement Award. Ms. Bishop is thrilled to be back in Musical Theatre and hopes to enjoy even more in the future.
